The Postdam run.

This was the perfect example of moving troops in the forest to reach an ally camp in record time. In fact we could make a movie of this. The story would run like this:

A small group of young students get cought in an unexpected war in a central Europe country. They would be utterly lost, but they have their teacher Wolfgang. They discover Wolfgang is an Ex Commando for the WWII that knows this terrain perfectly and makes the youngs run without stop under the blazing sun to reach a secret abandoned fortress in the middle of the forest.

Its a hard journey and the poor students get there half dehydrated just to find that this place is already taken by hundreds of refugees and they have only a little stop before going back in the forest to reach an ally transport that will take them to safety.
At the end two of them get lost of the group but they can make the trip back walking alone.
